Mischief’s most adventurous project for reaching rural areas of Scotland has been their surprise statue tour. This featured a team of builders supporting Irana Frump and Councillor Frank Patterson in their attempts to celebrate legendary Tango Superstar Carlos Gardel from Orkney to Stranraer.

The team arrived and erected a full sized statue to Carlos while Irana and Councillor Patterson went walkabout to meet locals and invite them to the grand unveiling. Here the story of Carlos’ visit to the village in 1930 was recounted, and it was explained that (just like Carlos) the statue can only remain for 90 minutes.

Carlos was celebrated in 25 villages and towns with members of the public getting their photo taken with the glamorous entourage and statue, before it was dismantled and the visitors said farewell, leaving only romantic memories and a fine local story.
