The Harvest Festival was the live culmination of an Approxima Arts project, originally beginning with the artwork An Empty Gunny Bag Cannot Stand. 120 coloured hessian sacks, hand stitched, were used to collect over 300 potatoes that had been grown throughout the first lockdown in the gardens of a single neighbourhood.

Once harvested, these potatoes were taken to SWG3 where in a brief moment of loosened restrictions, a socially distanced harvest festival of music, theatre and food was presented.

Mischief La Bas’s socially distanced conveyor belt of chip production chefs spectacularly transformed the community’s garden-grown potatoes into hand-cut chips with typical mischievous flair, right in front of the ravenously awaiting audience.
